Why we built SEI.

Enquiro (formerly Searchengineposition) has been doing search marketing since 1996. Through that entire time, we’ve used the same reporting tools that many of you have. And while they were certainly better than manually checking hundreds of rankings, we thought there had to be a better way.

So we started working on a new reporting tool. We called it the Search Engine Intelligence Report, or SEI for short, because we believed search marketers need more than just simple ranking information. They need to know what those rankings mean in terms of real visibility, and how their visibility compares to that of their competitors.

We didn’t build SEI to be an all in one SEO tool. Some of our competitors, like WebPosition, Web CEO and Search Engine Commando, include submitters, doorway page generators and other optimization tools. We found that most professional search marketers simply don’t use these features, because they need more control over the process. So, with SEI, we concentrated on what we needed most, a better reporting tool.

We wanted a ranking and intelligence report that was easier to use, and that allowed you to zero in on the specific information you were looking for. One that allowed you to quickly set up different keyword groups and report on them without setting up different missions. And a report that allowed you to monitor your true search engine visibility, and that of your competitors.
